Put that soda down! Drink water!!

It amazes me that Soda has slipped under that radar as an incredible health concern. Alchohol and cigarettes have rightfully placed warning labels on their products to give their users the knowledge of just how unhealthy using those products can be.

But what about soda? 4 grams of sugar equals one teaspoon of sugar. Did you know that a 12 oz can of soda has 39 grams of sugar? That is almost 10 teaspoons of sugar!!! Can you imagine if you were at dinner with someone and they ordered coffee with 10 teaspoons of sugar? You would think they were a little nuts, right? Well that is what so many people are regularly putting in their body - Often 2 or 3 sodas with a meal! And people wonder why our country suffers from chronic obesity and heart issues. If someone drinks three sodas per day and replaces those three sodas with water, that person would be eliminating 30 teaspoons of sugar per day! You can imagine the health effects that would have - weight loss, heart health, etc.

Another interesting fact about all this sugar intake is the relationship between sugar and cancer. Scientific evidence has shown that cancer helps feed the growth of cancer cells. Many health professionals have basically stated that cancer loves sugar. Soda may be, in fact, the biggest provider of sugar intake for most Americans.

I believe in the near future warning signs will be placed on soda cans so people can really evaluate what they are about to drink. Hopefully it will read something like this - Warning: This soda contains 10 teaspoons of sugar, consumption of which can lead to obesity, heart disease and childhood diabetes. See - http://articles.cnn.com/2007-07-24/health/diet.sodas_1_soft-drinks-metabolic-syndrome-american-heart-association-journal?_s=PM:HEALTH.

Drink water!! Water replenishes the body without any negative health effects. No calories, no sugar! If you want to lose weight - drink water! You want to feel better, drink water! Take your health seriously and drink water!

Innowave WL100

The Innowave WL 100 is the newest in a long line of great point of use (filtered water cooler) water coolers made by Innowave.  The system can be used with either microfiltration(spring water filtration) or reverse osmosis.  UV light can be added at the customers request.   The units water dispensing nozzles are also biocoted so  there is no concern for the customer of the unit being tainted by bacteria, viruses, etc from the dispenser.

The units are sleek in design, a great looking unit for any office, professional environment or otherwise.  Additionally,  they are very cost effective, available for most office at significant discount to what they are paying for bottled water coolers.  The water  tastes great and is healthy!  If you are using a bottled water cooler, there is no comparison to the quality of the water, the ease of use of this system(no bottles to lift, no storage, never run out, can use to store up water for hurricane without having to fight for it at the store) and to top it all off - it is
significantly less expensive!

Bottled water coolers really make no sense when you have a system like the WL100 available!

Filtered Water Cooler

Still using a bottled water cooler?  There are so many reasons to convert to a filtered water cooler.   No more 50 lb bottles to lift, expensive bottled water cooler bills($5-$7 bottles), delivery fees - the list goes on.

Filtered water coolers have become the option of choice for water in the office.  For a fixed price (typically between $20-$50/month) your office gets an unlimited supply of delicious, healthy water without the inconveniences of bottled water.  Microfiltration (spring water process), reverse osmosis, deionization, ultraviolet light and ozonation are some of the types of systems that can be provided through a filtered water cooler.

As far as health is concerned, you can't top filtered water coolers.  Bottled water coolers typically have an opening where the bottle goes on top.  That means the tank is exposed to air all day, every day!  Any time air is exposed to untreated water, bacteria grows.  Bottled water coolers have been shown to have huge amounts of bacteria growth in their tanks in as little as a week of use!  Filtered water coolers have self sanitizing systems, which kill bacteria in the sealed tank every day.  You wind up with water that is much healthier for you than bottled water.  Additionally, studies have shown that the plastic in the bottles emits chemicals into the water that are unhealthy.

If you are still using bottled water consider looking into a filtered water cooler.  You won't regret it!
